TMC and ICP Announce Program Details for Smart Grid Summit in Los Angeles

Third Edition of Smart Grid Conference Expands to Include More Content and Additional Keynote Speakers

Norwalk, CT – May 19, 2010 - Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC),
in conjunction with Intelligent Communication Partners (ICP), today announced program details for the third installment of their Smart Grid Summit Conference. The event is scheduled for October 4-6, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Smart Grid Summit is the first event of its kind to address the intersection of two core economic building blocks - utilities and communications. Conference sessions and keynote addresses equip companies building and using the Smart Grid to overcome the same transformational issues that telecom experienced with the advent of IP communications technologies.

Smart Grid Summit is once again collocated with TMC’s ITEXPO conference and trade show. ITEXPO is the world’s largest and best-attended event focused on IP communications technology.

Keynote addresses at Smart Grid Summit include: Verizon Business; Alvarion; and Aviat Networks. Show producer ICP and Zpryme Research will reveal the results of their new market research study about renewable energy. For the first time, the conference content has been expanded to two concurrent tracks, designed to help attendees understand how IP communications technologies are making utilities more efficient, while also enabling the Smart Home and a new generation of communications innovations.

The Smart Grid Infrastructure and Networks Track covers the following topics:
• M2M Applications, featuring Sierra Wireless and Synapse Wireless
• Grid Cyber Security and Network Resilience, featuring the Secure Smart Grid Association, and Enernex
• Modernizing Transmission and Distribution on the Grid, featuring ADTRAN, Battelle, BPL Global, GridPoint, and Areva T&D
• Modern Network Solutions, featuring Nokia Siemens and Alcatel Lucent
• Wireless/WiMAX Opportunities for Utilities, featuring Proximetry, Tropos Networks, and On-Ramp Wireless
• Green/Clean Grid Renewable Energy
• Game Changing Smart Grid Applications, featuring the Energy ICT, ESNA, and Echelon
• And the Crystal Ball Outlook, featuring Verizon Business.

The Smart Home Innovation and Leadership Track addressed the following:
• Data & Personal Privacy
• Emerging Smart Home/Energy Management Applications, featuring Nuance and iControl Networks
• Electric Cars and the Grid, featuring Nokia Siemens
• Wireless Broadband Opportunities in the Smart Home
• VC/Investor Perspectives and Start-Up Showcase, featuring DLA Piper.

Additional companies will be added to these sessions as the program fills out. The Smart Grid Summit is designed for IT and operations executives from utilities, service providers, product manufacturers, government/regulatory agencies, and executives from the financial community. Complete details on the conference content are available on the event Web site. Additional sessions are still in development and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Platinum sponsors for the Smart Grid Summit include: Verizon, Alvarion, and Aviat Networks. Media sponsors include the Energy Service Network Association (ESNA), and SmartGridCareers.com. The SIP Forum returns to the Smart Grid Summit as an Association Partner.

“The Smart Grid Summit brings together the telecom and smart grid communities in a unique setting designed to identify how they can create new opportunities, and drive innovation with IP communications technologies,” said Jon Arnold, founder of ICP, and co-producer of the Smart Grid Summit.

“For the third consecutive event, we’re pleased to work with our partner, Intelligent Communications Partners, to bring an even greater level of smart grid-focused content to an audience eager for answers as they build intelligent new networks,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO and group editor-in-chief of TMC. “In addition, the educational, networking and business opportunities that emerge from this market sector are appropriate for all of the resellers, distributors, engineers, regulators, and entrepreneurs that attend ITEXPO.”

Registration for the Smart Grid Summit is now open. Members of the media can reserve media credentials by contacting Todd Keefe at todd@firpr.com. Vendors interested in exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are invited to contact Joe Fabiano.
