“StartupCamp” Comes to ITEXPO West in Los Angeles
After a Standing Room-Only Success in Miami, StartupCamp returns to put the industry’s early-stage entrepreneurs on stage
Norwalk, Conn., June 30, 2010: TMC and EMBRASE Business Consulting today announced the return of “StartupCamp: Communications Edition” to ITEXPO West 2010, taking place the evening of October 4th, in Los Angeles. ITEXPO, the leading conference and expo for the communications and technology industry, takes place October 4-6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
This unique event provides a forum where early-stage communications companies, industry leaders, investors and other interested parties interact with one another, share information and validate business pitches in a live setting.
“We launched StartupCamp in Miami this past January, because ITEXPO has always been a venue for showcasing new technology, bright ideas and up-and-coming companies,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO and group editor-in-chief of TMC. “All of the startup companies, panelists, media and attendees who participated thought it was one of the most energetic events at ITEXPO. We’re expanding the program for Los Angeles, and we think it will become one of the most sought-after networking events for early-stage companies in the industry.”
StartupCamp, Comm Edtiion is produced by TMC, and by EMBRASE Business Consulting — an organization specializing in helping emerging communications companies succeed. The format offers an interactive environment where participants and attendees can share and learn from each other throughout the evening.
Industry observer Dave Michels said this about last year’s StartupCamp event: “What I need to state clearly here is this was an electric event…The energy in the room was unlike any other ITEXPO session. I attend quite a few telecom events every year and I never describe any of the meetings or sessions as ‘electric’.”
Startup Camp in Los Angeles will feature keynote presentations from successful entrepreneurs, discussing the “ins-and-outs” of building a communications startup in today’s rapidly changing environment. Up to five startups will be selected from a pool of applicants, to share their innovation and vision with attendees. Details on panelists, speakers and participating startup companies will be announced in subsequent releases.
“In an industry like ours, there is no shortage of great ideas lurking in the trenches,” said StartupCamp organizer and Embrase partner Larry Lisser, “We’re providing an environment where entrepreneurs can share their ideas with prospective partners and advisors, who can in turn help them accelerate their way to market.”
Companies interested in showcasing their technology innovations to the audience at the StartupCamp, Comm Edition in Los Angeles should contact TMC’s Joe Fabiano at 203-852-6800 x132 for more details.
