Alvarion’s® Corporate Vice President Dr. Mohammad Shakouri Shares His Vision for the Evolution of WiMAX™ In a Keynote Address on September 2nd at the 4GWE Conference
Norwalk, CT – August 17, 2009 – Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) today announced that Dr. Mohammad Shakouri will share his views on the evolution of WiMAX in a keynote address at the 4GWE Conference, which is co-located with ITEXPO West in Los Angeles. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 12:15 PM, this session will examine how WiMAX is increasingly being deployed by service providers as the foundation of next- generation broadband wireless networks. This session will also discuss the latest mobile internet applications running over mobile WiMAX™.
Dr. Shakouri is regarded as a visionary in WiMAX industry, where he has been instrumental in growing WiMAX into a multi-million dollar industry. In addition to serving as Alvarion’s Corporate Vice President, Dr. Shakouri is also the Vice President of the WiMAX Forum, and he is a member of the WiMAX Forum’s board of directors. His diligent efforts have created a global reach for the WiMAX Forum, with regional presence in many countries.
Prior to joining Alvarion, Dr. Shakouri was with Lucent Technologies where he was responsible for managing, building and developing network solutions for European and South American broadband wireless markets. Before joining Lucent, Dr. Shakouri spent fourteen years in technical and management positions with Hewlett Packard, where he co-founded the company’s wireless systems division.
Dr. Shakouri earned his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University on Subpicosecond GaAs Wafer Probe Systems. In addition to his industry leadership position with the WiMAX Forum, Dr. Shakouri is also on the advisory board for the Wireless Communication Alliance and is an IEEE MTT-SVC 2004 chairman.
